Tunable quality

FPS, bitrate, codec, container — all live-editable. NVENC at 30 fps and 12 Mbps is the default; bump it for crystal 4K or trim it for tiny files.

FFmpeg under the hood

Recording runs in a subprocess so a UI crash never costs footage. NVENC, QSV, libx264 / libx265 — every common Windows encoder is supported.

100% local

No telemetry, no upload pipeline, no account, no analytics. Recordings live in ~/Videos/Screen and stay there until you move them.

Cooperative shutdown

FFmpeg gets a clean q on stdin so the container trailer always flushes — files are valid even if the laptop sleeps mid-recording.

Global hotkeys

Start, stop, toggle — all bound system-wide via RegisterHotKey. Defaults are Ctrl+Alt+R to record, never have to hunt for the window.

Two clean modes

Visible mode lives in your tray with a recording indicator. Distraction-free mode tucks the controls away so the recorder UI never ends up in your output.

System-wide keyboard shortcuts

Bound via Win32 RegisterHotKey on a dedicated message-loop thread — they keep working even when the window has no focus.

Three steps to a clean recording

No accounts, no setup wizards beyond a one-click FFmpeg download. Open the app, press the orb, you're recording.

Pick your settings

Codec, bitrate, FPS, output folder — all in the in-app drawer. Defaults are sensible: NVENC, 30 fps, 12 Mbps, MP4.

Hit record

The big orb on the dashboard, or Ctrl+Alt+R from anywhere on Windows. The timer starts immediately.

Stop and find your file

Same hotkey to stop. FFmpeg flushes the trailer; the MP4 lands in your Videos folder, ready to scrub or trim.
